Senior Session Prep Guide for Guys
Here’s how to prepare for a laid-back and fun session so you feel confident, relaxed, and photo-ready.
What to Bring
- Outfits: Most guys bring 3–4 outfit options, typically:
- 1–2 dressier looks (button-downs, polos, sweaters, slacks, etc.)
- 1–2 casual outfits that reflect what you usually wear (jeans, tees, flannels, sneakers)
- Optional: Sports or activity-related outfit (team jersey, uniform)
- Shoes: Bring the right shoes for each outfit
- Accessories: Watches, hats, sunglasses, or simple jewelry can add interest and variety.
- Touch-up items: Comb or brush
- Water: Especially helpful on warm days
What to Wear
- Keep it true to you. Choose outfits you feel comfortable and confident in—it shows in the photos.
- Stick with timeless styles. Neutral colors, solid tones, and simple patterns look great and won’t feel dated later.
- Avoid large logos and loud graphics. These can be distracting in photos.
- Dress for the location. We’ll be outdoors—so outfits should allow you to move easily and stay cool or warm depending on the season.
On Session Day
- Rest well the night before. You’ll look and feel better with a good night’s sleep.
- Eat beforehand. A quick meal or snack helps keep the energy up.
- Arrive a few minutes early. It gives us time to settle in and use the full session time.
- Trust the process. I’ll give you easy directions and natural prompts—it’s relaxed, not stiff or overly posed.
Bonus Tip: Bring Something Personal
If there’s a sport, hobby, or interest you're passionate about—let’s include it! Whether it’s a football, guitar, skateboard, or classic car, personal touches make the session meaningful and unique.
